OT: But besides Honda and Nissan....have you ever considered a diffrent type of hybrid?
Okay Tom If you feel the need to move this its okay but since i mostly post in this forum ill ask the peeps that i know the most. Besides it could be technical if it doesnt go sour.
Have you guys ever considered moving over to another camp? Maybe a Toyota corrolla w/ a celica GTS motor/ or camry motor? or a Mitsu Mirage with a Eclipse turbo? What other hybrids would and can be a good and reasonable idea? I know that with money anything is possible but are these just as easy as the Honda + acura thing? Just wondering
if anybody has any links as well it would be appreciated
thnx

My buddy has a 302 SBF with heads/cam/intake and nitrous in an 88 RX-7. That is a sick car, super light weight + torque = wow. You can also swap an LS1 into one of them, and i've even seen an LS1 in a fiero.
ther is a video i have seen of an old datsun with a blown LS1 or maybe LT1 motor, 750 hp and a shitload of torque.
He can do a rolling burnout at like 40 mph.
Pretty damn wicked!!

V8 Miatas are sold by a company called Monster Miata. They get like 12-15 mpg due to their very small tires (compared to Mustang tires).
As far as Toyotas, I have heard of several swaps. I know a few people from the Camry boards that have 3S-GTE (Celica All-Trac/GT4 and MR-2) powered Camrys (both 87-91 and 92-96 Camrys). As far as Toyota engines, they come in 2 main designs, the G in the code means normal DOHC cylinder head, like B-series engines. An F in the engine code means a narrow DOHC design, a single cam gear on the intake cam, and internal scissor gears to drive the exhaust cam. This design is
IMHO. Camrys in the past have had 3S-FE, 5S-FE, 2VZ or 3VZ-FE, 1MZ-FE, etc. Other common swaps include 4A-GE, 4A-GZE (1st gen MR-2), or 4A-GE 20V into Corollas to replace their 1.6L 4A-FE or 1.8L 7A-FE. I have also heard that a 4A-GE head (normal, supercharged, or 20V) will fit on a 7A-FE block. Another swap that I'm sure is possible but haven't seen really yet is putting the new Celica GT-S's 2ZZ-GE in place of the MR-Spyder's 1ZZ-FE (40 extra hp). I've also heard of the 3.0L twin turbo 2JZ-GTE and 6-speed tranny going into an IS300 (2JZ-GE). I have a video of an Altezza which had a 1JZ-GTE (2.5L turbo, twin turbo I think).
Currently Toyota does not have any engine over 6 cylinders with the G-type head design (4.0L and 4.7L V8, or their V12 engine). I don't care for those engines very much because of that.
Also, I did see a Corolla wagon once with a B18C1 engine. The car was 100% bone stock on the outside (suspension, tires, hubcaps, all stock), with the exception of the GS-R exhaust, because the stock Corolla exhaust couldn't handle the engine's output.
I thought it was a pretty cool sleeper.

there is fairly easy swaps and hybrids by doing the following:
Nissan Sentra SE-R/Infinity G20 with SR20DETT
Corolla GTS (AE92-101) with 4AGEZ or 20valve 4AGE
Nissan Stanza with SR20DETT from Bluebird SSS
Toyota Tercel with 4AGE or Starlet turbo motor
Huyundai Scope Turbo or the 4dr. Sedan with a 4g63 turbo
Suzuki Swift GTi/GT with a 1.6/1.8l esteem block and its 1.3 head
Ford Festiva with a 1.3-1.8l 323/protege motor and even JDM turbo GTi-R model (as festiva is a 121 Mazda)
Mazda Miata with 2.0l Kia motor
Mazda MX3 with a 2.5l MX-6/Probe motor
Lexus SC400 with a Supra TT 6spd motor combo
Mazda 323/Protege with JDM 1.6-1.8l turbo motors from GTi-R
there is many cool combinations and H/A is not the only one. just most research and worked on.

somebody already said it, but an old mitsubishi mirage hatchback with eclipse GS-T motor. there was one in town that was really fast. 11.8 1/4 mile. with a stock engine.

He switched shifts, so I don't see him much anymore, but if I run into him, I'll see if I can't ask him what all he had to do to accomodate that swap.
when I finish the civic I buying my girl a 75 -76 chevy camaro and thowing a 454 in it. Does that count. I just love honda civic / del sols and chevy camaros (old ones). I would get a supra but like who can afford one. I mean around delaware an 86 goes for like $20,000....so why buy anything besides a honda to fix up.
chevy
honda
