Cylinder compression check D16Y7- Results inside
I've been troubleshooting a cylinder misfire over the last month. I'm getting random misfire code plus codes designated to each cylinder(1-4) every now and then.
I've done a full tune up, here is a list of what's been replaced up to now.
Plugs
wires
Cap
rotor
Coil
Fuel filter
Did a Dry compression check, and here are the results.
Cyl 1 - 190 psi
Cyl 2 - 190 psi
Cyl 3 - 100 psi
Cyl 4 - 190 psi
Okay that isn't good, so I did a wet test on Cyl 3, results are 210psi. So that means the cylinder ring is toast.
I was planning on cleaning out the IACV tomorrow and replacing the throttle body gasket, but now I'm not sure if it's worth the money.
What do I need to look at next?
Or should I even bother given the compression on cyl 3?

if the ring is toast i would just keep the maintainance up on it and drive it to the ground until ur saved up to swap another motor... the TB gasket is probably a waste. Its definately not valves if compression shot up with oil in the cylinder. it would have still had low compression with bent valves..... 100psi is well beyond spec but the other 3 are good. so u have 3 good cylinders and one limpping along. unless it starts creating a missfire i wouldnt bother.
