D16y8 Block with D15y7 Head
The engine in my 94 Civic has a d16y8 block with a d15y7 head. My friend did the swap before I bought the car and I did not know how it was going to perform. The head was just rebuilt and I am just not starting to break it in. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get more HP out of the engine. It has a VTEC block and I am thinking about doing a full VTEC swap. Any ideas.
Sure you can. You can boost a lawn mower if you wanted to.
And when I tell you that you will be wasting your time and money to get any more power out of that engine N/A, I know what i'm talking about.

Its a strong engine and tranny only having 90,000 miles on the block and tranny and the head just being rebuilt. I am going to see what I can get without charging for right now.

I had a 2000 honda civic that had just a straight d series 1.6 barley did any mods to it changed it to 5 speed, cat back exhaust, intake manifold, short ram intake, and a throttle body spacer and it surprised the hell out of me.
im guessing you had/were driving a stock dx prior to the bolt on civic you're talking about. or have never tried a civic with a B or K in it
I would like to boost it in the future just dont have the time or cash right now to get the engine ready for boost and will never through spray to it I hate that ****.
Seriously why did you ask for suggestions and then just shoot everyone down when they told you what you didn't want to hear? Bolt-ons do nothing. you might get 5 horsepower at most. The only thing that you could bolt on is a new head with vtec and even that wont get you much.
