is what is pictured not yours??? i would say get some 1/8"-1/4" mild steel plate, get some dimensions, and find a sheet metal shop that will bend it up for you

This particular piece isnt well engineered, but I think it could be done better. I would go a little thicker(3/16 maybe) and use some gussets in the bends. Where it is a "supplemental brace", I think you could do it well enough with the a little thought. Why do you need it though? Is your trans bracket broken? There might be a better fix is all, I'm thinking.

my trans is held up by only the two top bolts that i had to drill and tap. a few people had their tran break off from where they tapped it before. (click image is huge) i want a piece of mind with the two bolts on the bottom to help hold it. the motor in its original car, is bolted to a cradle with 4 bolts on the bottom of the tran.

I think that looks much better, but I would still worry about it flexing from the bottom, where you have it bolted on. I would throw a couple more gusetts down there.

Understand that both of these designs are more or less supporting the weight by the two bolts. The lower two bolts are "bolted in" but are not adding to the actual structure because the that long 1/8" piece can deflect so much.
I would either:
A) C channel that entire lower piece at the very least. Better yet, something like rollcage spec tubing bent accordingly depending on how much room you have from the frame rail.
B) Make a 2nd mount with tubing or pretty thick stock that uses the lower torque mount location on the bottom of the frame rail as a mounting point instead of trying to tie it all into one mount directly.
