I went to maple grove on sunday with my 88 crx si. it has 167k miles on it, it eats oil!. it is a stock engine with a pacesetter muffler, no mid pipe. I have a Grdeey TDO4 turbo and a starion front mount intercooler. I was running 5/6 psi of boost.
my first run was a 15.007 at 92, I shifted very early just to get the feel of the track. my next run I turned up the boost to about 7.5 psi and well the start felt amazing, but then my clutch started to let go. I had to fether the gas just to make it down the track, and I still ran a 15.8. my next run I was able to play with the clutch and get a 14.826 at 93mph. and I had to let up on the gas most of the run just to get the clutch to catch.
over all I am very happy with the way my car was running. this is the first time I really saw some potential in my crx. I started this race season running low 16's with my turbo, and now im into the high 14's and I fell that my car is capable of low 14' and even a high 13 with more tunning.

 

Get a clutch in that li'l car. You'll be happy once you turn up the wick a little.

lol i ran better then that with my allmost stock 86si intake, straight pipe!! lol lol time for a new clutch then your motor will go thats alot miles for runing all that psi!!! but you will have fun !!!!

have you strenghthened the bottom end?
have you gone cam and heads route?

as I said before I have a stock engine with very low compression. just a bolted on turbo an dintercooler. I do have a MSD 6A BTM ignition. thats it!

 

carp... i say get a CM stage 3 clutch kit.... get a hold of some slicks.... u cna be running the mid to low 14's u want.... just spend s lil cash on that only.. u will be happy with the results

 

ooo how much did it cost u to turbocharge it? and would the same setup work on a sohc zc? i wanna turbo my zc so bad

 

all together it was about 1200 for all the parts.
the same setup will work on a ZC

 

i know its a trival question, but did u retard the timing or even bump the fuel pressure up? Because that is nice if all you have is a turbo,intercooler, and the msd and that beast is doing that good with a bad clutch. lemme know what settings you have on it when u do tune it and are those the carbonfiber projectors?

 

also, when is the breaking point for the axles, im looking at running 7 lbs also, and i was wondering what about my axles, when will they not hold up, im running a 90 dx crx axles also, dont know if the si axles are stronger or not, someone please verify

 

Just wondering why you didnt opt for a B16. You would have run at least a 15 without a turbo.

 

What are you running in terms of an ECU? The stock ECU will throw codes if it sees boost.
