Swap whole tranny or rebuild?
I drive a '99 Civic Si. B16A2
So I need some tranny work or a new transmission now.
My transmission isn't smooth. I've driven other manual cars and they are smoother than mine. Mine isn't horrible, but you need to shift damn perfect to keep a smooth ride.
It also makes a noise when the clutch is pressed. A mechanic said I have a couple years left on it if I take care of it.
When I'm driving and I downshift to 2nd gear, it sometimes pauses and then jerks into gear(at lowish RPMs)
Or when I'm in first gear, lets say in a parking lot, it sometimes jerks when I give it gas(from coasting in first). It's not "smooth" at all.
Do you guys think I need to buy a whole 'nother tranny or just a rebuild? How much would both cost and which would you do?

Cheaper to rebuild than buying a new trans, cheaper to buy a used trans. Much higher risk buying a used trans as it could have worse problems than yours currently.
