Ok i went to start car, no crank, only tachometer moving, lights, etc...no crank...did it again and again no crank...i started to feel like i was stuck i tried again and bam she fired up...



second day: first start of the day did it again and again and again and no crank, just tachometer moving kinda weird (mph) note the car used to be automatic everything works, its a well running car in my opinion this just seems odd to me, battery has been tested to be at 100% help people!

yes fresh swap, this just started happening yesterday , i have no o2 sensor , that was my only check engine. no oil leaks, i came back from the shop yesterday i got my clutch bleed, and fixed, it was leaking and it lost alot of pressure now it feels really good and the release point is way different , i bleed my breaks and that was it now this ****, idk what the f9ck happend but im kind of mad because it happens when it wants...i go to work at 2am tonight i dont want that **** to happen tonight smh

Doesn't matter if it was a fresh swap unless the engine was rebuilt, which you didn't say. Was regular scheduled maintenance done to the engine?

And no O2 sensor? Not smart. And something you might want to mention in the first post. The picture of the engine doesn't really help the issue.

 

its a jdm motor from japan, as for as i know it wasnt opened up , im sure the compression was tested, and thats it. i have warranty on the motor so im not to really worried about having to replace distributor or getting a better wire harness ...im simply asking for someone to shoot some advice maybe someone has experienced this problem before, and my o2 sensor is the next thing to do on my list, then a basic tune with a b20b base map...

 

Then I can't help you because I'm asking you if things like a tuneup were done and you cannot answer that question. When I had JDM D15B dropped in the hatch I went and did a full tuneup anyway.

 

whats a tune up to you sir, i have new oil, new belts, new headgasket, intake manifold gasket, new tubes, new everything lol...does that help

No misfire, was properly time'd runs like a champ she has a Gsr tranny ;-)

 

i will be doing a full tune up, asap, but its a bit pricey here in L.A im looking at 300$

Well you could of said Dyno TUne, Theirs tune ups like "oil changes,belts etc witch i've done obviously cause i did mention it was a "fresh swap" thats what i meant by that comment, but like i said if you would of said is your car chipped my answer would of been no, my car has not been chip nor is has it been dyno'd would that help , im not sure i hope so...is that my problem? i dont know? thats why im aksing for help

 

i had someone say distributor ..or maybe starter? but i get no crank or weird grinding noise from a starter.... and my battery is 100% so that throws my alternator out of the question im kind of at the point maybe is my main relay or somthing

 

i would check these things out

- check tranny ground.
- check valve cover ground
- check starter wires

mine was a bad contact on the tranny ground. i unscrewed it and cleaned it with some sand paper and tightened it back on

 

looking at the picture it doesnt look like you have a valve cover ground. i think your missing one

 

I didn't ask you if your car was tuned or dyno tuned. Why would I? I asked if you had done a tune up/any maintenance. That's universal for any make/model of car out there. Don't know how that could have been confused with anything else. Ultimately your answer was no.

the thing is i been driving the car for about 2 weeks, this problem started yesterday ...

and once again i have done maintance smh, i have all new gaskets, oil,everything was done at a SHOP! they wouldn't want a law suit!

 

I do not think OP knows what a "tune up" is

 

check the grounds like i said in the other post

 

i went and bought the valve cover ground, its there now

 

did you check all the plugs on the wire harness? fresh swap maybe something came unpluged, if thats all good I would go with the starter next.

 

Lets go back to diagnostics 101 and stop with all the pointless or out-of-order questions.

OP, your car is not trying to crank, correct? Does it make an initial click, or nothing at all? When you turn the key to ON(II), do the dash lights come on? Can you hear the fuel pump priming?

 

I would start with with all your grounds and starter wiring. If that doesn't work run a wire from the hot side of your starter to a toggle switch. Then run another wire from your battery to the open end of the toggle switch. If you flip the toggle switch and it turns over your ignition switch is bad. After that I would probably look at the dizzy or ecu

 

nothing at all , only thing i noticed was the cluster move from 0-80mph and get stuck there, and i heard a very faint clicking noise from behind the cluster....

no crank...


since i put the ground on the valve cover to the chassis it hasnt done it..im guessing it help'd i cant just wait and see....
