I have my coolant in a plastic tub thing, and wanna know how I can get rid of it... would it be REAL bad to flush it down the toliet?

Well my house is setup with a septic tank.... which is why I'm asking sorry didn't mention that earlier

 

Take it to somewhere like jiffy lube when they are not busy. They will let you dump it in their drum for free.

 

autozone will take it, I asked them awhile back.

 

To my knowledge you can just let it run down the street.

I asked this a while back and found a site.. something like cleanup.org or something like that.. where your supposed to be able to enter your city/zip code and they give you centers that take fluids for recycling... I don't have a problem finding a place to take motor oil.. but as far as other fluids go (brake fluid, tranny fluid, coolant, etc) I THOUGHT I found some places (on that site) but when I actually called the places up or went there.. they either said they "didn't take them anymore" OR that there was some sort of limit on how much you can get rid off... I took my coolant to jiffy lube and they actually wouldn't accept it wtf? on the cleanup.org site it said they would...

I called my local Kragen and they said they wouldn't take it (they only recycle oil) I asked my local Autozone and they only took oil too.. the nearest Autozone that would take coolant was further than I wanted to drive (like 20 miles)..... and all the places that were supposed to accept it (based on cleanup.org or whatever) didn't take it wtf?
