oem!!
itll save you tons of money later... one of the V i bought from a private owner replaced all fluids before
selling the V to me, after a few miles i started feeling the erratic or sometimes sudden change or
disengage of gears... i called him back and told me that he just went to a local lube shop and had the
V change all fluids there, long story short... i had to pump out/siphon the whole atf 2-3x w/ the oem
fluids to remove all trace of the different atf!

Alternatively, I have used Valvolene Maxlife ATF in Hondas for years and not had any problems. I have used both the 3X drain and fill method and also the drain then fill flushing though cooler lines . Either way, I do at least at 1/2 the interval than the owners manual recommends.

It’s recommended to use genuine Honda oil even for the manual transmission so, my advice is to use Honda AMF. And let me tell you that replaced fluid will always be black as a 1x drain and fill doesn’t actually drain all the fluid from the torque converter. That’s why Honda uses a 3x drain and fills to attempt to change all the fluid.
