6.5 alpine speakers dont fit 97 civic ek
OK so I have a 1997 civic coupé. It currently has stock paper cone speakers and I bought some alpine SPS - 610 speakers for the front. They're 6.5 so they are up to spec. But the rear magnet is too big to fit inside the door panel cup. Has anybody ever had that problem? Will I need to cut? Thanks
Yup, grab a dremmel or something similar and cut holes big enough for the magnets to fit. I bought Kenwood 6.5's for my doors and they were shallow enough that I didn't have to cut holes.
Use some spacers and a couple of wire adapters after the bucket is cut out to fit the speakers properly. Might want to also think about ways to keep moisture away from the speakers themselves.

thanks guys. I ended up buying a pair of 6 1/2" pioneer speakers for the front. I got the Pioneer TS-A1675R speakers in case anybody is wondering. The car tech guys at work recommended me those if I don't want to do any cutting. and I went with the Kicker KS693s for the rear. In total i spent 70 bucks out the door for this $250 set up. not bad right? lol
