Default Release Bearing

Hello all,

Is there anyway I can get grease to the Release Bearing? Mine is making ALOT of noise! Just wanna know if I can get by with greasing it (and not dropping the tranny) Maybe through the Flywheel timing hole? Just unsure of how to go about doing it.

What kind of noise is it making ? Does it stop doing it when you lightly press the clutch in ?

It's probably you just need to regrease the ball joint piece of the slave cylinder. Take off the two bolts that go to it...i think 10mm or 12mm.. remove the slave and apply axle grease to the ball piece. Then put it back on. The noise should go away.

I'm not saying your slave cylinder is bad or there is anything wrong with it. It's up to you if you want to do what I said.

I'm talking about the two bolts that hold the slave cylinder to the tranny not disconnect the slave cylinder from the system altogether.

The fork that the slave cylinder pushes (which pushes the release bearing) rides on a ball. He is telling you to grease that ball.

There is no way to grease your throw out bearing only replace it. You might as well do a clutch too while in there

1) his problem isn't the throwout bearing
2) nobody is saying to grease the throwout bearing

This is taken straight out of my Helms. It's up to you if you want to grease where it says to grease. I'm not posting in this thread anymore.

If you're correct in your assesment, then no it's not possible. the transmission will need to come out in order to attempt adding grease to the bearing. and, on that, no you cannot service these bearings. if it's making noise it needs to be replaced. grease will not fix it.

and like Holmesnmanny has been saying, grease the pivots before you try to spend any time with the bearing.

My clutch is brand new, in fact I just finished my transmission swap/clutch job.

My sincere apologies to holmesnmanny who was absolutely right! I was completely oblivious to what you were trying to suggest, until I seen the picture. Thanks a ton dude.

This is the correct fix for this problem.
