Front end 96ek
Hey guys so I had a quick question about what i could do/would work on my 96 DX coupe. Stock dx front end on it (ctr fenders) and I wanted to dress it up a bit. What can I do lip wise or fogs ? Would I need a si bumper? I don't really wona do a whole 98+ front end convention on it so what could I do?
Thanks
Ryan

go on ebay, search for 96-98 civic lip, order crappy fitting abs plastic lip on car, install crappy fitting abs plastic lip on car, take pictures and share every where, put on flame suit, FIN.
96-98 or 99-00. Two different front end options.
To swap any 99-00 front end parts (fenders, hood, bumpers, lips, headlights) you'll need to swap them as a whole and not individually. take one or the other
Here's a thread regarding the differences:

96-98 Fog-lights
(Best thing to do is to get CLEAR fogs, and if you want them to be yellow, you can always use yellow yellow tint later, if you change your mind, go back to clear.)
Installing fog-lights requires cutting the bumpers and running wiring through the firewall into the dashboard of course. If you can't find the DIY/Tutorials on how to do these, lemme know and i'll gladly help you out.
In most cases, 96-98 fogs are commonly the squares, circular foglights were an OEM option though, too. I believe there was one member who used 99-00 foglights (circular) and mounted them to 96-98 square brackets to make them fit on his 96-98 bumper

Here's a modified excerpt for the 96-98 Lip section
*regarding the PU (polyurethane) vs ABS plastic lips here's the breakdown
1) Polyurethane lips are basically a type of rubber lip, very flexible, and if shipped they may often come folded in the box so when you receive it and want to mount it onto your Civic, you'll need to heat it up or let it sit in the sun to regain its molded shape. The fitment may not seem as strong.
2) ABS plastic, it is what it is, plastic, fitment is better than polyurethane and isn't flexible.

If purchasing a replica lip, do yourself a favor and get a polyurethane replica, they're much more flexible than the ABS plastic which may crack and break very easily, although their fitment may be more precise (not as precise as OEM or genuine of course)
