I bought a kpro and adapter harness for a 05-06 rsx thinking I can just get rid of the adapter harness and use. I didn't realize they do something different to the ecu is there a way I can still use it??

I read that but figured there might be a way to make it work for a 02 again send it to hondata and have them put it back some option???

called hondata they said sell it it wont work. I hooked it up just for the hell of it uploaded a map and started the car took it for a drive everything works fine. I am confused on what does not work no check engine light all gauges work fine on car and laptop

 

VTC is not working, air temp is reading incorrectly

Ok so that should be something easy to fix then considering that all years for the rsx have the same vtc and air temp sensor. I would think it would be just a change of wires or something easy. It doesn't make a differance witch motor you use when useing a 02-04 kpro as long as you use the right trans.

 

why are you being so stubborn? two very reputable tuners and the company itself has just told you it wont work. do you think you're smarter than them?

 

They make money selling new products so of coarse they would rather just sell a new kpro. But if there is a way to make it work with out paying for a new kpro witch I'm sure there is. That is why

 

sell it to someone that needs an 05-06 kpro and buy the correct one. it's your own fault you bought something without doing your due diligence and find out you cant use it AFTER the fact.

 

I opened the kpro and stock prb found out what was changed so if I don't find someone that wants to buy it ill just get out the de-soldiering tools and put it back

 

Contact a hondata dealer to get a price on having hondata convert the ecu back to 02-04 spec & be done with the hassle.

 

Hondata changes components and circuits on the ECU board itself...it's not just some simple fix you can troubleshoot your way through unfortunately.

I am not sure they offer a service for back converting an ECU either...
