Idle probelm after TB cleaning
Hey all just need some help with a idle problem. I cleaned my TB and IACV and now my idle is jumpy from 1-2000 rpms. I did the idle relearn procedure but im just making sure this is what it supposed to do. Yes ive searched its just I haven't seen any vids on how its supposed to look so im just checking here for reassurance in case its a more serious problem. i made a vid below
Mine was doing the same thing. It was my IACV. I cleaned the hell out of it but it still wasn't working properly. Air in the cooling system can also cause this. Air can get into the system when the two coolant lines are removed from the IACV. Try bleeding the air out of the cooling system and see if that helps, if not give the IACV a good scrub with simple green or brake cleaner and a toothbrush. If you did not remove the IACV from the TB when you cleaned it you could have lodged something in the IACV causing it to stick. If neither helps, you may have to replace the IACV.
I assume this is only happening after the engine has warmed up.

Ya it happens when it warms up. I cleaned the IACV. My hatch came with a d16y7 swap and I've been noticing some lines arnt hooked up. when I took the IACV off I noticed its lines where not on either. could this be the problem?

If it's only happening when the engine has warmed up, it's definitely IACV related. It could be a vacuum leak I suppose but since it only seems to have happened since you cleaned stuff up, it screams IACV to me unless you knocked a hose off somewhere. The IACV should have the harness plug and 2 small coolant lines attached to it. Any one of those missing could certainly cause your problem.
Hmmmm then ill connect the lines when I get a chance to see if it changes. Its a 92 cx just did a full tuneup and it was runing perfect before. no check engine light or anything. when I start the car it idles high round 2500-3000 then when warmed starts to go up and down.

This happened to my friend a couple of days ago. Did you replace the tb gasket. He replaced his but for some reason the gasket was not big enough. He had a small leak right under the throttle body. Try putting your finger down there and see if there's any air. He made his own gasket and cured it right up! Hope that helps.

thanks for yalls responses. ya I replaced the gasket with a fel pro from autozone an I actually just read that these can be a problem vs a oem from honda so ima go to a dealership and get that. I also just remembered I have a spare IACV so ima change that to n see if it changes. again thanks for all the help.
