Whinning noise, Steering rack?
Hey whats up guys? Okay I have a 2000 civic hatchback and its making this terrible whinning noise when I steer to the right, when I steer to the left its perfect. I had the tie rod ends replaced about 2 years ago, yesterday I noticed that the dust boot on the drivers side tie rod end is torn, could it be my steering rack has gone bad?
Is it only making the noise when the car is moving or does it make the whining noise when you turn the wheel to the right when the car is parked? I personally have never heard of a whining noise from a ball joint but I guess it could if it was rubbing against the wheel.

Only when its moving, to describe the sound better, it sounds like the tire is rubbing on something, weird whirrring noise, only when I turn right. I have stock si's and only lowered 1.5 inches, so if its rubbing, i would have no idea what its rubbing on?
With your car parked, turn the wheels to the right and take a peek in there to see if anything is rubbing on the tire. I had a similar sound not too long ago and it just ended up being a loose splash shield rubbing on the tire.
