Found a nice NSX
I sell cars in MD. Recently we got an NSX in from a trade in. I am posting this simply to inform anybody that is looking for an NSX in near perfect shape that this could be your next car. It is a 1996 with 48k miles, black with new Acura factory wheels (2 of them had scratches). The price is $41k. It runs very well no mechanical problems at all, and you can get a warranty for 3 years. If you want it, let me know, it will kist likely be sold within this week.
The price is not negotiable. It will sell for that, I just wanted to offer it to you guys first, before it went to some woman who wanted it because "it looks neat".
Watch those misogynist comments. I know quite a few women who like to take their NSX out on the track, and could probably whupp yo @$$ there.
And I think it "looks neat" - anything wrong with thinking that?

I second that, NSXs look neat
and looking at it is about all I can do with mine

My comments weren't directed at any women like you. They were directed at the type of buyer that car will end up with, which is a woma who came to find a BMW or Mercedes, but saw the NSX and decided to learn stick on it because "it looks neat". I have a lot of respect for females, whether they are into cars or not, however, a car that is meant to be owned by an enthusiast should not be owned instead by a trendy girl looking for something to smoke in and shift at 2500 rpm and hang **** from the mirror. I hope that clears it all up.

This is why women do much better at selling cars to other women than most men do. They treat people who walk in the door as customers, not as stereotypes.
nsxtasy. some guy on the block 1 up from where I am has "nsxtacy" on his black one...I wish I could buy a NSX. And thats definatly the truth about women being stereotyped. Most guys dont think when a girl rolls up next to them in a nsx (or a civic) that there is a chance there is some mad mods under the hood!....and for the record I am not a woman either.

I think ym comments are being taken the wrong way. So, to set the record straight: You don't have to be a woman to be wrong, as some of your comments are. I simply meant that many women, especially the ones I deal with, look at cars as accesories to their look. I have yet to sell one car to a female over the internet that hasn't double and triple checked on the color combo of the interior and exterior just to make sure she's getting the right car. I also cannot recall a time that me and my male customer have looked back and forth at two identical cars picking the right color beforehe made his choice. It is well known that women will purchase many of their possesions based on how "cute" they are, or how nice they look. As for narrow minded prejudice, yes, it is. But is it my fault that a dominating percentage of women fit the prejudice? No, not at all. If you like cars for cars, then you'll buy an NSX because it's a rare mid-engine, rear wheel drive car with good reliability and daily driver capabilities. If you like cars for pretty things, then you'll buy the NSX because it's short, it looks neato, and because the other hairdressers you work with don't have one. And because Honda Tech, as my understanding is, caters to the car fanatic that is into function before form, then I offered this car to that crowd, the ones that wouldn't buy it because "it's cute". Of course you will disagree with everything I have said because you have pride on your comments, however wrong they were. You stereotyped me as a typical male, and I am nothing close to that. I stereotyped most females as concerned with appearance, and I think it goes without saying that mine is true. Thank you.

As I said, that's why you're probably losing female customers every day, many of them to female sales staff who aren't filled with such prejudices.

If you want to limit your sales to those men and women who are too stupid to understand your narrow-minded attitude and steer clear of it, that's fine. There are others out there who will be happy to pick up the business that you're turning away.
You stereotyped me as a typical male, and I am nothing close to that.
Most typical male salesmen today know better than to be so condescending and arrogant towards their customers. And most typical males today know better than to be so condescending and arrogant towards women, too. You are a neanderthal, a dinosaur who hasn't learned to change with the times. No, you're not stereotypical at all. And thank goodness for that.

Do all of the the misconceptions you have come from actual experience in car sales, or do you regularly make incorrect statements? I'm not a typical salesman, and I don't work at a typical dealership. I have a lot of respect for my customers, male and female. I have tremendous respect for females, but in particular the minority that don't fit into their stereotype, because the majority of women that do kind of frustrate me.
You say I "can't claim that everyone in a certain category fits into a stereotype"? I don't. Do you own a dictionary, and if so, please investigate the definition of a stereotype. It is a statement or belief made generally about a type of person or thing. It does not account for the entire population of that person or thing, just a general amount of them. Were you aware of that? I guess not, so I will disregard that comment you made.
And in closing, I of course don't make these comments to my customers, because I am not confrontational and I'm there to make money, and to get them the car they want. To sum up the original intention of the post, I of course will sell it to whoever is prepared to write the check and take the loan, but I'd rather it go to an enthusiast, than a stupid woman.
And because I am in a position where I get to see how customers react with salespeople daily, then how about I tell you how it works. Sound okay? More cutomers buy cars from ******** salespeople than the nice ones. That's because the nice ones feel guilty about taking the extra step to say, so do you want it? You wouldn't buy a car from a jerk? You probably already have, maybe a few times, but because he was a good salesman you didn't know. Maybe you still don't, maybe you are paying an interest rate that is too high? Maybe you paid more for the car than you should have? Whatever the case is, it is well known, at least among people that research this like me and other professionals in this business, that the person who can take control will make the sale. People walk away from me? It has never happenned, why? Because I always show them good service, I never pressure people because I don't have to, they put the pressure on themself. The sales people that pressure their customers do better than me, but that's how it goes. So now you have been educated to that part of the business, because clearly you were misinformed.
So, next time you post back a confrontational repsonse, please use at least a little logic and valid information, because I will give you facts, and in return I would want the same. You can reply to this, but if you do, do it out of rational opinions instead of emotions that have been prompted by misunderstanding what I am about and what I said.

kg cm2 way to be patient...too many people on this board blow up over simple misunderstandings and I also hope someone who deserves such a fine automobile snatches up that nsx. peace
