Default need some help on engine choice

little back story: i was given some information that i could put a 92-95 SiR-II B16A so i take a loan out from the bank to buy said motor. before buying i ask another shop there thoughts on this idea and the guy tells me that motor will not really fit. i dont know what to think. i got the money to get a new motor and the guy i talked to made that seem like that was going to be a troublesome.

i have and 91 civic hatch dx currently running a p28 (through obd1 hardwire conversion) and a d15b/y8. still have a cable tranny and do to a cluster swap i am now using an electric speed sensor. i pretty much got the jist that this thing wont be smog legal and i can get over that (thank you military for that at least,) but is really my only option to convert the car back to obd1 to put the b16 SiR-I motor in it?

if someone could help me out that would be great. its amazing how everyone you talk to will tell you different things and EVERYONE is right...

thanks guys
if you require more info let me know. oh and on the 1st i will have around 6500$ that i can get away with spending.

i dont even mind doing that really. the emissions laws would make it not legal but i can do it since i have out of state plates.

the mechanic told me my best bet was to try and find a gsr with bseries cable tranny.
im not sure why he just didnt believe in hydraulic tranny

$6500 is quite a bit, you can do alot with that, You said you have out of state plates so that means you dont have to smog at all? because here in PA my cars registered in carbon county so theres no emmisions but we dont have smog at all, i used to have a 91 DX hatch with an SiR II B16A, cable Ys1 trans still running OBD0 with a PW0 ECU, if your already converted to OBD1 you should be able to do the swap and run a PR3, personally i think its just easier to keep a cable trans but hydraulic B16 trannies are way easier to come by then cable ones (around here anyway) but with that kinda cash you could easily convert to hydraulic
