Default Honda Civic ELD question...

Ok... so I do not see the ELD in my fusebox underhood on my 04 Civic LX, recently I swapped in a new PCM I had in a 2002 parts car for an issue I was having, I swapped in the immobilizer as well and life was good, car started and no issue with the initial problem. Now I am getting a code for the ELD and for the front 02 sensor... so I thought maybe it was coincidence and thought I would just swap out the ELD from the old 02 to the 04... soooo I opened up both and the 02 has one and the 04 does not... so weird... so I thought no problems just swap the whole darn fuse box... that's a no go as I have no wire to plug into the ELD... I can't win for losing!

So my theory is the 01-03 has ELD's and the 04-05 has either no ELD or it's integrated into the box? I'm thinking the 02 PCM I installed is looking for the ELD and not finding it and reporting an error? Does that sound about right or am I waaaay off in left field here? Also and chance the 02 is also a ghost code as the 02 PCM uses a different method to look for the 02? I was assured that the PCM's were ok to swap... did I get told a lie?!

Now if this is the case can I simply ignore the ELD and 02 codes and carry on? The car is running great and no issues, fuel mileage ok, no missing, life seems ok... so can I just ignore the light? This is a work run around car for me that really I'm ok with the light, I will check the codes on each oil change to make sure life is still ok and the light is just for the codes I know of. Thoughts and help is really appreciated!

Rob

The ELD is the brown rectangle in the lower right hand corner as shown here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j...63910096747933

Thanks for the quick response.... the spare 2002 Fuse box looks like that picture, however that's my issue, the 2004 one in the car has nothing in that spot, just the steel bar connecting the two fuses together, also no plug for the ELD. Does that mean it doesn't have one??

My 2004 Civic EX has the exact same fuse box as in the picture. I'm not sure how the newer gen Civic is but as far as i know the 01-05 Civic's have a fusebox with a removable ELD.

Well this was an interesting one... I went to the local dealer and they agreed with you that all the fuse boxes had removable ELD's... they were baffled mine didn't have one until one mechanic walked up and said 'open your door and look at the sticker, bet it's a Canadian vehicle'... bingo... so I guess Canadian cars do not have ELD's... who knew?! Thanks for the help guys... Got it all figured out!

The Canadian Civics don't have a ELD. Guess your car was assembled in Canada! haha
