Quick question.... Code 20.
I have a 1992 Civic Dx with a GSR Motor I've just swapped over. It starts up and runs perfect. I'm getting a code 20, which I've searched is Electrical Load Dectector. I called up a buddy of mine and he told me that you will always get this code with a GSR swap because the Civics aren't equipped with an electrical load detector. Could someone tell me if there's any truth to this?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Quick question.... Code 20.
no offense to your friend but he doesnt no know hes talking about at all. I dont know why it just decided to happen after the swap, but the ELD is under the fuse box thats under the hood. Sometimes you can take it out and clean it with electrical contact cleaner, other times your have to replace it

Re: Quick question.... Code 20.
Okay well I searched and searched and turns out my buddy was right. There is no ELD in a Canadian civic. My question is do I need to get a fusebox and wire one up? I have a chipped p28 with hondata300 and the code doesn't show up with that ecu, just shows up with the stock ecu. Will it hurt anything, or run any different if I just use the other ecu and not do anything with an ELD?
