its common on crx's to have a water leak coming from the outside fresh air vent, and usually i thought it was cause it was'nt sealed good where it meets the body,
but what i don't get is, if the fresh air vent is a scoop on the outside, with a hole in it for outside air to get in & lead inside car to air vent on left side of dash, . . . then would'nt water just be able to follow the same path the air went through to get inside the car too ???, causing a water leak ??
usually i seal around the edge of the fresh air vent with silicone where it meets against the body, but now that i think of it, would'nt that be pointless ?, since theres a hole right above in the fresh air vent for air to go through to the inside ?,
can someone explain how it works ? if water can go through same hole the air goes through to inside of car ? or if it can't go that route ? and how do the water leaks enter usually around the fresh air vents ?
thanks for any info

i covered all the main leak points, really good, and solved most of my leaks,
like the windshield etc . . ., but my question was'nt about trying to find my water leaks, cause i know where all of them are coming from and sealed most,
i was just wondering if water can go down the part of the fresh air vent that the air goes into ?, not the area at the bottom around the base or where it mounts to the body, i just mean if the main hole in the air vent scoop on outside is meant so outside air can go through it and into the car to the a/c vent on dash, then is it possible for water to go the same path how the air went in ?
or is it designed someway where it curves around funny making so only air can follow the path towards the inside of the vehicle ? where its not a direct path water can follow ?

I know they have a little lip so water in the cowl doesn’t just flow in, and the little hood is so rain doesn’t just flow in. My issue is when it rains any more than moderately hard, my floorboard is wet, along with the wiring harness under the hvac. If anyone has a solution, post it here.
i hope the only fix is not just sealing the hole, because I rather like the fresh air vent.

I have this same problem. I love the air vent but I really hate a wet fuse box. What seemed to help me was replacing the little clips that hold the plastic hood down. For some reason beyond me, they used plastic push clips instead of real hardware. Eventually, those get old and either stretch or fail. I just put new push clips in and now it doesn’t leak during every rain and wash! It’ll still leak with enough water flowing in the cowel, but for me it really helped.
