d15b2 head dilemma

Ok, I have a 1990 civic dx with a d15b2 engine. I am trying to do a head gasket replacement. The head I have is a rebuilt d15b2 head from another car. I am not sure that the head is TDC on the compression stroke. Could someone please do a thorough explanation on how to set up a head that is not on the vehicle please? maybe some pics would be nice. or a link to a walkthru that shows how to set a head up when its off the car. Oh, and yes I am a honda Noob! TIA
Image shows where its at now, it looks like the marks dont line up

That camgear is used on multiple models. If your engine is 100% stock meaning a complete D15B2 with matching camshaft, you use the two marks at 3 and 9 o'clock level with the head. The other mark is used for different variants of the D-Series engine.
