05 Civic front end noise
I need some insight on my cars noise...
It sounds like Im driving a Jeep or a pick up thats lifted with knobby tires and I have an 05 Civic with factory everything...
purchased brand new and am the only owner
it has been loud on the interstate from day one...
have purchased new tires, and had the bearings checked about a year ago and Merchants Tire said the bearings looked good, but I still believe this is the issue
it is a DX model if that helps

Does it only occur while driving at freeway speeds?
Is it louder while applying throttle, and quieter while "coasting?" Could it possibly be transmission related? That's where I'm going with this.
How about while you make slight left-to-right turns at speed? Any variation in the noise?
How many miles are on the car?
Original transmission? Automatic or manual?
What kind of service has been done?
Any other symptoms besides road noise?

I dont think it is transmission related as it has no slippage and changes gears smoothly
still sounds the same loudness when I am going around curves
OG transmission and its an automatic
car has 135k miles
all original everything except tires, brake pads, spark plugs, battery, and alternator.....
the car has been very good to me and my family over the years
everyone that rides in the car always says it is the wheel bearings but Merchants tire said they were OK when I bought a new set of tires last summer......the noise has been the same for at least 3 or 4 years
If it were a wheel bearing, chances are it would have grenaded by now.
You sure it isn't just road noise? I have a hard time believing that a faulty wheel bearing is the culprit here, especially if the noise hasn't worsened/changed this whole time.
They're inexpensive and rather easy to replace. You should at least remove and inspect them for damage or excessive wear. If you believe they're okay, repack them with fresh grease and reinstall them. Personally, if I went to all that trouble, I'd just install new ones.

I recently had this issue sort of, except my noise was more of a WUB-WUB-WUB. The tempo would rise the faster i got and it would slightly change if i made a left/right on the highway. I could only notice it going past 20 mph and it did not matter if i was coasting in neutral or speeding up. I just recently purchased a new wheel bearing from advance auto parts, and while removing i also noticed the ball joint was busted so i replaced that. My car is still sitting without a knuckle because I have been unable to completely press in the ball joint with the press i rented (i have no air tools and its a PITA) but my advice would be to google how to check for bad bearings/ball joints.
