Alright well, here goes nothin..Please bare with me I am only 2 years into the car game.. Just picked up this 97 civi HX D16Y5 standard has 146k on odometer but not sure if its swap or not.. Engine seems pretty smooth starts up quick. The car came with a bad tranny cant even go into 3rd so I'm sure it got driven pretty hard..but goes smooth in the other gears..just last year learned how to do simple alarms on cars so when i got home i checked out kick panel got a lot of electrical mess that some guy made trying to install an alarm not even as messy as my first job!! Driving the car lately has been kindof annoying because it really bogs on and off I can do the smoothest shift and as im increasing throttle it kinda goes slow then kiks in faster all of a sudden..not sure what that is?? I Cleaned out my egr valve a little and it did help a bit but still does it. (btw that thing was fiiiilthy) Came with check engine so immediately I scanned it the next day. This is what i got:

P0325 knock sensor CKT malfunction
P0135 O2 sensor heater fault (bank 1 sensor 1)
P0141 O3 sensor heater fault (bank 1 sensor 2)
P0453 EVAP Ctrl Pressure sensor high input

So I was wondering what is the P0453 Evap ctrl pressure sensor?? When I go to find one I think its going to be called a different name.. And where is this one located?

And I guess overall I'm just really curious what you all could tell me about the car just from what I've told you.. If your just going to say its a piece of beep..just save it lol I know I might have a little mess on my hands but I want to do all I can to fix it. Thanks!

 

Fix that evap cel. I left mine unplugged on accident one time and I was getting like a legit 10 mpgs.

 

You said you cleaned the EGR valve but did you clean the entire EGR plate? I believe on the HX there is a plate that you have to take off and clean. Also, the O2's on the hx are pretty expensive but you need to replace them. One of them is like a wideband O2 that monitors your air/fuel ratio which is what gives the HX such good gas mileage. Sounds like you have a bad knock sensor as well. You need to fix the cel's before you can see if anything else is going on.

How does EVAP effect mileage or drive ability?
