fans stay on and confused on cel codes
the car is an 1989 civic lx fuel injected with either a 1.5 or 1.6 engine and no A/C
So problem number 1 is the check engine light comes on after you drive for a while. Found the Red LED under pass side carpet and cant interpret the codes. The LEd blinks as follows
long blink, pause, long blink then 5 fast blinks
so it blinks like thi
1....1..12345 blniks
i thought it was code 25 bc slow blinks mean 10 and the short 5 blniks made five.
then after reading i thought maybe its code 1 and 15. or if added all toghether its code 17.
ive watched soem videos of the light blniking and ti seems if the code was lets say 10 or higher it would blink quickly 10+ times for the code and if its under 10 it blinks slowly with a pause?
Now to the fan issue. previouse owner hardwired the fan on dirrect and cut into the original harness. I have since then re-connected to the best of my kowlege to they way they were originaly. Fans still stay on as soon as ignition goes into position #2.
FIrst thought was the radiator fan switch stuck on but according to a post i read the fan swtich either works or doesent. The fan relay seems to work normal bc it clicks the second the ignition is put into position 2. Perhaps the " timing relay" i have heard about thats located near or under the brake pedal is the culprit?
