1999 civic ex

I was changing my front brakes yesterday. The front passenger side wheel was shaky in all directions. Tie rods are stiff and have no play. Took the wheel off and the hub jiggles. However there is none of the classic rumbling or howling sound coming from the wheel when I drive.

Could it be the wheel bearing and or hub? Or maybe the spindle nut is loose, but ive never messed with it? Please help, what should i do. It drives fine now but would like to take care of this as soon as possible. thanks!

 

should be the hub bearing, check that. grab the tire and and see if it has play. take the wheel off and check if the hub has play..

 

Yea as i said, tire has play....hub has play. I am just confused cuz it doesnt make noise when driving. Is this just the beginning of it going bad?

^^ Yup. Normally people are not checking for it. The sound is when the bearing geats even worse. you caught it in the beginning stages IMO
