Default D15/16 build

Ok so I got a 97 lx sedan that I'm putting a jdm d15b vtec swap in from HMO. But they only have the 3 stage vtec crap so I decided I'm gonna put a z6 head with full super tech valve train and stage 2 crower na cam. I thought about itb's but hear bad things(if someone can set me straight I'd like to hear) but I'm pry gonna order a skunk 2 with 68mm alpha series throttle body and thought about bisi style header but can't keep power steering or ac so pry gonna use a dc 4-1 just wondering what I'm gonna be looking at for power with a really good tune

With that setup? Probably be lucky to get near 140.

Don't know what the deal is with NOT getting the 3 stage VTEC model and also purchasing the correct ECU so it runs correctly. Best of both worlds in that engine.

But this is bench racing here (Bench racing -- defined as predicting the performance of a car or a race outcome based on specifications) which is not really allowed per the rules. Build it. Take it to the dyno. Then you'll know. Building first and then asking what kind of power you're going to make is the ***-backwards approach to doing it.

You won't feel that.
But let me ask you how much faster does that measly bump in horsepower make you?

i would like to ask what your facting your opinion off of? because i personally have taking a 150k mile d15b7 and bolted a z6 head to it with y8 manifold and ebay header and had it tuned properly and i could pull out on 00 em1s with b16b swaps! also seen a BONE stock y7 have a turbo kit bolted to it with proper tune and make 210hp on 12lbs with 170k miles. also seen a high compression na z6 make 305 whp on 91 pump gas. so your opinion comes from where again? i asked this question hoping someone with first hand experience could give me some advice but of course all i get are forum trolls

Link it then. You must be one of those 2F2F dreaming kids. Great job on buying one of the lowest rated motors and thinking your gonna be running along side all the k series all motor cars. Do you believe everything on the Internet? Your setup is only gonna be as fast as a b16 until that B hits vtec then it's bye.

lmao i never said "run with k's" for one and two b16?!? lmao your joking rite? you must be one of those "2f2f" kids dreaming a b16 will run with all the all motor k series. are you ******* kidding me? b16s are weak dick not even ctr swaps are really that impressive still a 14sec car. im not saying the d build will be "super mad sick fast" im doing it because its different and fun. i drive a family sedan not a ******* race car!

I wonder why people ask questions asking for opinions when they know everything. This whole thread is absolutely non-productive.

I just searched Youtube and Google. I found a WRX with those numbers. But for a Civic no such animal exists. If I missed it then link us to it then.
I've seen what you have to do and spend just to make 170hp N/A on a D-series so 300hp N/A Z6 just aint happening.

But the OP is right. B16s in any form are highly overrated.

They are weak depending on what chassis they are in. There is no way a mini-me would walk me at the track...(my b16b = 13.8...mini-me mid 16's?)
I agree the torque on b16's are "weak dick" lol. But so is a 1.5 mini-me, with a lot less power. I guess I just dont get what the relavance is to your thread here. Alot of people like to bash b16's...(maybe over rated, sure) but when people are building a 1.5 and bash them, makes one think......troll perhaps? I know you are not building a "racecar" obviously with your engine choice. People just need to give it a rest. Not every honda motor was made to impress the lil kiddies.

How do you figure that? You asked and people told. And they are the trolls? Um, yeah, sure, okay.
