Default lsv question

what would cause the motor to throw codes 9 and 8 and idle low at 250-ish rpm after a new fan switch was installed(one on t stat housing)?

Check the ground on the tstat housing. Maybe move it to the block side of the tstat housing and not the outlet side(the removable side). I bet it got knocked loose in the process or for what ever reason it just isnt getting the ground signal that the ecu needs now. If thats not it maybe check dizzy plugs to see if ones a little loose. If thats not the case try unplugging the fan switch to see if it affects it at all.

Just a couple thoughts for you. Hope it helps.
