Is the engine you got a SOHC 2.2 VTEC? If you don't know how to tell the difference on that series engine, non VTEC plugs are angled down from the intake side and VTEC the spark plugs are angled down from the exhaust side.

Your car is the ex which came with a VTEC engine, F22B1. So if your ordered the same exact engine, it will all bolt right in.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what your talking about and/or trying to accomplish.

He will need to wire up all his VTEC stuff. You may also need to wire up the new internal coil dizzy. So no, not a direct bolt in job. If you have a oooo exhaust manifold and not a o-oo-o that the B1 has you will need one of those as well.

Oh. I didn't know the exhaust mani was different.. I guess common sense should have told me that. He got the harness from a ex so it should have the VTEC already wired into it.

Look at the exhaust ports on your motor.

F22B1 O-OO-O
F22B2 OOOO

Then look at your exhaust manifold.

If it looks like O-OO-O then you're fine.
If it looks like OOOO then you need one that has the O-OO-O ports, or a header. Your choice.

No, you just need to wire the harness for the external coil distributor to a pigtail for an internal coil distributor.

Just do this backwards. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=84028
