Default Key keep sticking in ignition.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with my key being stuck in the ignition.

It's a 98 civic automatic with a alarm I got installed... The key got lost and the ignition module didn't come with the car. it was changed..

Anyway I installed a ignition from a 2000 civic auto and also put the alarm wires back. The alarm works but every time I start the car and try to turn it back to the 0 mark it it's stuck.

The only way I get it to come out is by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Try a little WD-40 on the key and work it in and out (that's what she said)

What I can't understand is that this wasn't happening with my old ignition module when I had the key.

My shifter is a bit loose so I'm not sure if that could be the issue that's causing the problem with this new one.

The key works perfect when the battery isn't connected and when it is the car starts and all but as soon as I turn it to go off it stuck.

I miight get some graphite lube and if that doesn't work I'm checking the cable.
