Default 1999 CIVIC SI CLUSTER PROBLEM!!! NEED HELP

I HAVE A 1999 CIVIC SI ,WHEN I TURN THE KEY THE MPH NEEDLE GOES TO 20MPH.AND STAYS THERE WHEN CARS RUNNING.AND THE RPM GUAGE DOES NOT WORK. ANY IDEA'S? PLEASE HELP IK REPLACED THE HEAT/TEMP PEICE IN THE CLUSTER.I HAD A EX CLUSTER IN BEFOR AND WORKED GOOD, MABYE BAD SI CLUSTER? PLEASE HELP.

my friends car did the same thing we had to replace the cluster

bad cluster you can try swapping the internals from an old cluster . taking the needle off is tricky but do able if ur carefull.

I did replace the gas/temp guage now it works great
I put diffrent rpm and mph guts in that i know work and now the rpm moves but when you turn the key bolth needles go up still .

The needles seem to float in my cluster. Anyway of mabye them needing repositioning ?
I heard about keeping the needles off while cluster is in the car run it snd such then reinstall.

Mine did the same thing. Ended up doing what you mentioned and somehow it worked after that. Took needles off, drove to work (20 miles) and back. Put speedo back on with the car running, then tach with the car off. Worked great after that.

Check your speedo. Mine had a bad ground. I jumped a ground wire. Fixed it
Could be a bad speedo as well. Pig tail could be loose? Check the lil things before popping ur cluster open. IMO that's last thing you wana do. Especially to a original SI cluster, which are expensive in hard to find

I checked the wiring its good. Still the needles float to a certain point and stop .. When the keys off (car not running and turn off ) they go back down. The mph guage works when u drive but it starts off at 20mph . Does anyone know a good place that can fix the rpm and the speedo guage? The needles were removed . Mabye it messed it up?

wasnt a speed sensor just recalibrated my cluster works greattt now thanks for the help (:
