So here's the deal..I bought a 99 Honda Civic EX back in February, and the kid that sold it to me decided to not tell me that he swapped the engine. When he swapped it, they put the timing belt on wrong(4 teeth off), in which i'm assuming played a part in my blown piston that I have...Which leaves me to my question.. What would be my best option to get my car running again with the least amount of money? New engine? Crate Engine? Repair the Piston? Rebuild? or any other ideas would be appreciated. Also I've heard that it might be a good idea to get a used one from Japan. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for your help.

 

For under $1k you can rebuild it or buy a Jdm d15b or few hundred bucks get a swap locally

I think you must go for having new engines. You can find any dealers that will give you a big discount. Just be patient on finding. :D
