Default JDM ecu socketing, cant get it to work

I bought a jdm socket kit from xenocron.com, it came with the 26pin socket/zif/chip. It also came with the surface mount 373 chip, the only directions i can find online require different "c" spaces to have capacitors installed, but the kit didnt come with those. it came with a resistor that resembled the r54 that comes in the USDM ecu kits. has anyone successfully socketed one of the jdm P08 ecus? if so, are the caps required? also there is no direction on which way the 373 chip has to be positioned. i will include a picture of what i have installed. any help would be greatly appreciated, and i have searched on here for this type of thing but there arent any different instructions that the one on pgmfi.

Why don't you call xenocron and ask?

Is this post for real? When you ordered did you check to see what came in the kit? Did you try and check Xenocron's website for a DIY/instructions?

USDM Kit Includes
- 28 pin machined DIP Socket
- 28 pin Aries ZIF Socket
- 4 pin CN Datalogging Header
- 1k resistor
- 74 HC373 chip
- Jumper for J1
- SST chip (27SF512) reburnable Eprom

JDM version Includes
- 28 pin machined DIP Socket
- 28 pin Aries ZIF Socket
- 4 pin CN Datalogging Header
- 1.2k resistor (auto/manual conversion)
- Surface Mount 74HC373 chip
- SST chip (27SF512) reburnable Eprom

C14 (Main Board Capacitor)
[c14]
This is a replacement capacitor for the spot labeled C14 on OBD1 Honda/Acura ECUs. We replace these as a preventative measure on every ECU we chip as over time they tend to go bad.
***As of Dec 1st, 2007...We will NOW be including the main ECU board electrolytic capacitor as a standard item in our OBD1 ECU chipping kits. It is highly recommended that you replace this item in the ECU's you chip these days!

Instructions are located in the 'Tech Center' section of the site.
http://www.xenocron.com/install/Xenocron-ECUs.htm

This took less than 10 minutes to find.

Like ive stated, those instructions require c92,c92 and some others that werent included in the kit. You two obviously didnt answer my question because you probably have never chipped/socketed an ecu before. Ive done over 50 usdm ecus but this is the first attempt at a jdm one so im not a noob. And ive emailed xenocron but they arent helpful

It states plainly what comes in the JDM kit if you didn't get them then it's not a Xenocron issue. It's not a kit issue.

So you're up ****'s creek if you cannot figure it out.
But lookie what I found (less than a minute searching). Seems to work for this guy.

And this guy.

Put C49 and C50 on, you don't have to worry about the other capacitors.
Not trying to be a dick (it comes naturally) but the information is out there. You aren't the first to try and fail to chip a JDM ECU.

Sorry how was my staff not helpful? Would like to know to rectify that if I need to.

Surface mount caps are 100% not required to make the ECU work correctly when chipping it. We used to include them, but as parts became obsolete, costs go up...rather than raising the price of the kit we decided to stop supply non essential parts.

If you have any questions, you can PM me directly or email
