Default ecu chip question

i want to know if i get a phearable chip basemap, or any other chip(basemap)

will it work for jdm and us ecu with no problem or

does it need to be made for the jdm ecu, therefore it wont work on a us ecu

just want to clear this up, are the compatible with each other, thanks

If you contact us with your order number & what jdm ecu you are trying to use we can tell you if the chip you ordered will work in the jdm ecu. :-)

There is no such thing as a JDM or USDM chip. You can however run a jdm map on a usdm motor or vise versa.

If you are ordering a chip kit:
USDM and JDM chip kits are different as JDM ecus use a surface mount 7HC

The chip it's self will work in a USDM or JDM ecu that is correctly socketed/chipped.

i just thought of another questions

i have a jdm p72 that is already socketed with a chip from japan, doesnt have and labels on it but ecu had a sticker with around the case for tamper proof or saying not to open
would that chip be a for a stock gsr?

and if i ordered a chip from u, will it be plug any play or needs a chip kit

There is no way to know what is programmed to your jdm p72 without reading the data onthe chip.

Concerning needing a chip kit or not, this all depends on if the ecu you are trying to use has already been chipped/socketed so you can simply drop a chip into the socket in the ecu.
