Could any LS owners feel the difference with cold air intake?
I dont know if I can feel a difference or not, only other mod I have is full exhaust. I know people always say intake is the best bolt on but I think my exhaust was.
I had my suspension and header, cat, and exhaust done by the time I installed my Comptech Icebox. All I had to say after that first test drive was DAMN! Hell yes I felt the gains, but they were prolly only so impressive b/c in my case the intake was the only restriction left in the air in-air out equation.

install my iceman with a otherwise stock LS. Felt a difference right away. You might not feel as much with a short intake however.

When I only had the short ram, I got lots of noise and felt the engine rev much easier. But not much more...

Comptech Icebox vs AEM CAI.
Which one is better?
I was planning on the DIY Icebox with the K&N Drop in and modification of the stock airbox.

hmm thats weird, it might just be me. When I installed my racing medallion I could feel a big difference. With the intake I dont think I can feel it, I can hear alot more especially the lil whistle during shifts

i had a aem cai and a dc sports header put on at the same time so i dont know, now i have a aem short ram, i like it better. although id rather have the comptech ice box.. but really if u want horsepower buy a turbo...then youll feel something
YES I felt the difference right away. The downside is this intake is loud.
One thing I noticed while taking the resonator off is that stock intake is also a hot air intake. It takes air in at the location of the ABS unit. To make matter worse, Acura design it so that air has to turn 180 degrees through the resonator. I guess this is the price we have to pay to get the car quiet.

I felt a little kick, not much. Butt dyno verifyied.
On an LS, the long tube on a cai combined w/ the long single runners on the intake manifold will give you a very noticeable spike in power at about 4,000 rpms. This spike is commonly known as the "aem-hump" but can be found on just about any cai w/ similar specs to aem.
Peak power gains of a cai vs. a short ram will be similar. The only difference between the two is the power spike in the midrange.

Here is an example of an integra (b20 engine) w/ a single runner intake manifold that dynoed once w/ cai (blue) and once w/ a short ram (red).
Virtually the same across the board, except for 4k-5k

WOW i wish aem did that to my ls. jk what else is done to the b20? AEM is a nice product, youll notice it but then you will want more, like me who is now tryin to sell everything in my name to buy turbo. Im almost there. I have any extra t3/t4 if anyone is interested lol.

This is wrong....probably because the car is standing still so there is no "ram-air"effect to speak of. You would definately see a difference in whp if you could replicate the cold air rushing in while driving the car on the street. There should be a 5-10hp difference between a short ram and cai.
