Default '97 DX lowering help?

Alright, so I lowered my car months ago, but the coilovers have another inch to go in the front, but I can't lower it as there is a pinch weld that goes right through the middle of my tire when I try and lower it too far. The back is totally fine, but the front is impossible to get around. I know people have lowered their EK's much more than mine. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the weld on hand right now BUT if no one knows what I'm talking about simply from description, I can take a picture tomorrow when I'm off work.

Here is a picture of how low it currently sits:

I have lower profile tires now, 185/60/R14. It won't be slammed to the ground by any means, but I know I'm capable of lowering it more. Unless I need a larger diameter wheel and lower profile tires?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

cut slits in it with a grinder and pound it flat.

Thanks so much for your "help". If you didn't have anything relevant to say, why post at all?

But as for cutting it and then pounding it down, will that damage the integrity of the frame at all? I don't want to have my front end malfunction fatally at any point.
Also, I was mistaken. I took that picture when I first lowered it before I realized that it would hit the pinch weld. So it actually is sitting higher than that now, and that is around where I want it to sit.

Public forum.

This method has been used many times for those trying to get every last bit of low out of their setups.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. "maybe" in the event of a hard front end accident, but in that case you'll have more to worry about then just the pinch welds.
