Default 1991 CIVIC HATCH RADIATOR HELP!!!

So I put on a JDM 4-1 race header from a type R civic. I build my engine for a N/A or ALL MOTOR build. This last part was a great score (in my eyes) Freebie from my bro he went turbo... so i scored the part, Required some fabrication which I could easily handle. I had to purchase a 2.5 inch flange and adapt it to my cat.

Well I had to remove my original crossmember and I know it requires a Traction bar for clearance issues. I am not sure what to do with a Rad.

I had a car that was totaled and picked some parts off that my bro purchased to just strip out and I got a half rad. The rad was a 1992-1995 eg style and Really dont fit all that well under my hood.

I am curious as to if a Fluidyne radiator from a 1992 hatch will work. I just looked at one and Im not sure. THe one I have is punctured.

Any one help me with Traction bar/radiator fitment advice?

I really need a radiator, and I also need a Traction bar, Im not sure what to do as far as mount radiator or clearance. I know this has been covered before. Some ones got to know

Thanks Joe

Your rad. mounts are still there. You can use a rad. from a DA or Civic EX. The EX has a thicker core than the other Civics.

Oh I forgot to add, I drilled out them mounts, And plug welded the existing, And ended up moving the mounts to the passanger side, to house the spare EG rad I had from a totaled out car. The rad sat a bit higher up on the top mount. It came up and interfered with my hood. I ended up trimming it down so my hood would close, I just notice that the radiator sat low towards the ground.

I do not have a traction bar yet. Basically I am in the dark with out knowing where things are going to fall into play.

I want to run a Thicker Beefier Half Rad. Because of the new header I would like it to AIR cool better. The b16 engine will cool sufficent with a good half rad.

I was always convinced to use a OEM DA rad or keep my stock civic one which is identical to the DA one. I just dont need it. I do still have my STOCK full size rad. I am selling( if anyone is interested) it is in great shape.

At this point I do want to go the half rad route, I did re-locate the mounts and it did not work. I believe I may need a crossmember or the Traction bar in to determine fitment of rad. I just dont want to go spending all sorts of money again and not have good results.

My car was for sale- I just decided to keep it and get it going. I was in a accident in my truck and before the accident I was working on this and just so happned I could not get to everything at 1 time. I decide to sell it for cheap, and my cheap was not everyone elses as they decide to act like its not worth $3100 Im just trying to get it going and I guess have fun again.

Buy an innovative traction bar. They allow for the use of 92-00 civic radiators. They even make a bracket which holds it in place.
