Default Red '85 Del Sol painting questions.

Alright a few days ago I got me a red '95 del sol. Really the only problems with it are that the previous owner left it out in the sun, so the paint is kinda meh. It's not horrible, and is fixable, but it's gonna take some work. The mirrors are the worst part, so I want to repaint them. BUT, I'm afraid that if I repaint them the same color (red), that they won't match the doors and it will just look bad. So I debated painting them black instead, because there are a lot of black mirrors on cars out there. At the moment I'm pretty concerned with my car looking ricey, because it's an old Honda, and it's got a catback exhaust on it. Will it look like I intentionally painted them black to be "cool", or will people just look at it and think nothing of the mirrors? And also, I'm very new to paint, if I get some black paint, could I also use it on my wheels without being worried that it's going to look bad or come off?

EDIT : I realize there is no such thing as an '85 del sol, that was a typo, I apologize.

The problem with trying to match a paint is that it doesn't always come out right. If your paint is sun damaged, it's almost impossible to make it look like new. Since you're new to painting, I advise against trying to save the paint. You're better off just painting the whole car in one shot.

As for your mirrors and rims, i'd suggest doing matte black. It's very easy to do, cheap as all hell, and doesn't look bad either. Your mirrors will basically look like oem plastic. As for your rims, try to use high heat paint. Might cost a little extra, but well worth it if your car's constantly in the sun. Hope it all goes well
