Default Cam cover seal

Does the engine need to be cool to do this? The bolts on the cam cover is hard to take off and I do not want to damage anything. I was using a cheater bar and it still would not budge (did not use full force yet, scared ). Anybody done this before and have any info/tips for me? TIA

Well as far as the valve cover goes ... those nuts should come off ... shouldnt really need a breaker bar ... just make sure you have the right size 6 point socket with an extentsion ... consult your helms manual for the proper torque spec when tightening the nuts back down .. i wanna say something like 12ftlbs ? make sure you get the right spec... if you over torque them you will snap the stud

Hmmm guess I should go buy myself a new torque wrench. My dad kept on using the old one to take off bolts so I think it is messed up.
