Default Crv lowering questions

I have searched this topic but haven't found exactly what I need. I want to lower my 99 awd crv on ground control coilovers and probably kyb g2 shocks/struts... I have heard to use accord front shocks from 95-97 and eclipse rears? What year eclipse should be looking for? And is there any true difference between the cheap camber correction kits and the expensive ones? Would I need new front upper control arms and ball joints? I want to do this right so I don't run through tires, I can't afford that. Thanks

Yeah I've been looking through that post already, didn't really clear up the specific questions I had

92-00 civic front shocks
eclipse rears require a custom bushing, ITR rear might be too low for you and youd have to make an adapter to get some more height.

SPC extreme adjustable upper front ball joints FTW. up to 3 degrees of adjustment and they are mint.

i have no experience with ebay rear upper arms, but im sure theyre fine.

be prepaired to cut/bash/weld/pull the inner/outter fenders if youre going to slam it.

My post in the thread is pretty clear on my setup. I may have some of those bushings I made left. I'd have to ask the wife to see if she tossed em, in a cleaning frenzy.

I don't want to slam it necessarily as it is our primary family car. I just want to lower it cause my wife is disabled and its hard for her to get in and out comfortably... And I think it looks sweet. So I don't want it tucked, just a little clearance of the wells. I will have to roll the fenders and notch the frame under the fender? I am prepared for a little custom fitting, although I don't have a welder... Wht would I make the custom bushings out of?

I used T-6 Al. Steel and aluminum dont trend to play well together, but Im not to worried about it. I even posted the specs of the bushing in the post man. You'd be hard pressed to ask for more than that. On a side note the CRV handles very well and transformed from a wallowing tip over machine to a fairly confident driver.

That would be sweet if you could find them

if youre not slamming it, all you have to do is trim the control arm so it doesnt get stuck

I think I would rather notch the rail than weaken the control arm by removing part of it.. Sounds like trouble, idk

The lip that you grind off is extra from casting the arm. I got my extended top hats from Toronto, but you can get the same ones from eBay.

If you're not slamming it just stick with crv struts, 90-97 accord sleee type coil overs and extended top hats.

But I still need camber correction, right? Just the rear if I'm not going too low?

Yeah you can buy longer bolts and put washers between the rear upper area and where it mounts to the car

So don't bother getting the $20 camber kit? That way at least it's adjustable for the alignment guy... Instead of taking out/adding washers? Or are those cheap and prone to failure? I don't know

I can get ground controls made for a crv, wouldn't that be better that for accord? Or would accord give me more drop, the rep said the crv ones would only drop me 2 inches, could I get more with the extended tophats? I don't think I want much more, just the options if 2" isn't enough. I'm afraid of te spring rates of the accord matching with the crv, so I figured get the ones designed for the crv

My skunk2 accord cool overs on kyb civic struts ride AMAZING at 7" of drop. Camber kit costs 80$ in Canada, so I chose to go with washers at first. I'll be buying the camber kit shortly. I also do my own alignments.

I had accord sleeves w/ gr2's. ride quality was fine only issue was the suspension travel. There was only about 1.5" of travel between the top of the strut and the top of the sleeve. I had to raise it up to get more travel. Make sure you either cut/bend that lip while your in there

why not just get full bodies that are made for the crv? or H&R drop coils made for crv?

BWR sells full bodies for ~$700 FOR CRV.

dont waste your time ******* your money away on shitty rigged setups that are just going to fail prematurely. its not worth it.
