aux power not turning off with key out
about 8 months ago I replaced my ignition assembly switch. Well my car has been dying a lot over the last couple weeks.. My buddy has my doing some mods on the inside of the car right now..
I got a phone call this morning saying that the radio, and a couple other things are not turning off when you pull the guy out the ignition. Could this be a defective lock switch or would this be something else..
I have replaced the chassis harness and engine harness with good uncut harnesses... I really do not wish to have to spend another 300.00 to replaced this again...

Test the ignition switch in the off position.
Have you checked whether the radio is improperly wired? What else besides the radio has power after removing the key?

I know the radio is wired right. Its a factor Honda radio.. He said the radio is staying on, blower motor can still be used with the key out, clock is staying on and cigarette lighter. Everything else you would need to turn the running lights on to make then turn on..
I checked the switch in the in the off acc on and start locations and everything is working right there. Pull the blower relay and it wont come on. Tested the relay and it is not stuck. Miss understood what wife said. Clock and cluster is not coming on. Pulled the radio and the blower is still coming on. The lights behind the climate control buttons are lit up when you select a function like floor vent defrost etc.
pull the "back up" fuse under the hood and see if you car starts and the radio still works. that will mean you have a yellow wire and red wire attached like if was a radio wiring

What car/set up do you have?
What exactly did you you do? There's a diagram in the FAQs sticky for continuity testing the ignition switch. You need to check for continuity where there shouldn't be any in the off position -- between the battery (BAT) and accessory (ACC) terminals.

94 civic hatchback, ex chassis haress, dc2 dash and eg dash harness plugs repined for dc2 cluster.
Even with the blower replay pulled from the car and the radio unplugged the batter what dead this morning.

So we unplugged the a/c harness from the car today.. After unplugging it and putting the blower relay back in something happened. The blow would not turn on without turning the key one and the radio would not turn on with out the key on also...
