Default Paint removal

Just bought some power doors for my 92 hatch. They were originally some sort of gloss black but the guy i bought em from had painted them white. It seems to be like just rattlecan white. Feels gritty and comes off slowly with some brake cleaner and elbow grease. I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the white layer with as minimal damage to the black layer.
Here is a shot of the doors. Any help is appreciated.

The white paint is over the black paint. I was thinking of sanding but figured it would also sand through the black. I'm trying to save the black paint if at all possible. If not I'll just sand the whole door.

Any reason why you're using those doors on your hatch and not the originals? The door shells themselves are the same, the power stuff just swaps over.

I'll try the wet sand first. If it doesn't work I'll try acetone. Any suggestions on the sand paper grit?

My current doors have like a snake path on the side bulging out. My guess is the previous owner side swiped something. I'll put up some pictures of it tomorrow.

wet sand off with 320, be careful not to scratch the black paint to much.
the once its all off, wet sand the black with 1000 thru 2000 and buff/polish.
