what altenator can I use on my 99 civic with a d16 to put out more power?
I have a 4000 watt class d monoblock amp and I'm about to get another 1000 watt amp for my highs so I'm going to need a more powerfull alt and I want to use a factory alt. Would a b series have more power and fit my d series? If not where could I go to get a bigger one to fit my car?
Well my lights have been flickring even before I got the stereo. So I figure since I'm gonna buy a new one might as well upgrade
Upgrade the alternator. You don't need another battery. A 165 amp would be nice. If you can get bigger, do it. Been running one myself for many years. You never see my headlights dim on a hard bass note.
Well I have hid's so the headlights don't dim its just my dash lights flicker and I'm sure my tailights must dim with the bass. Where can I get one of those 165 amp altenators? I called autozone cause usually they make altenators with more amps but all they had was a 75 amp is the 165 a factory one if so for what model?

Ohio Generator. All you need to know. Call them, tell them what you have, they'll tell you what you need.
Yes I've heard of google but I come to this website for a reason, I can get better answers from people who have actually tried the products. I mean this is a HONDA-TECH...its kinda what its here for lol. Oh and I don't really like ebay my buddie spent like 3 grand for a crx and someone made the whole ebay link up and ended up getting screwed out of his money. I looked at the one from summit I think that may be the way I'm going to go...but jebus that's a lot for a alternator. I guess that's where the whole you pay for what you get for thing comes into play. That's how much I payed for my entire system head unit and all.
But bosch is a pretty good company, so it should last. I used to sell the crap out of bosch products when I worked at oreillys every customer I sold to came back completely happy. If not I could always just have it rebuilt I guess.
The one I run is 165 amp and bought off a legit Ebay seller. I've had it for 5 or 6 years now. The price isn't outrageous either. Maybe a bill and a half.
You may also call us at 330-875-6677 M-F: 8AM - 4:30PM. There ya go, Ohio Generator's contact information. They don't have pricing info on their website, or I'd hook you up with that, too. Seriously, they are THE GUYS in the dB world.
