Default How am I supposed to decide on an exhaust??

How did you guys decide on an exhaust without hearing them??? How can I hear what the exhausts sound like on my kind of car??
I have a 92 Lude Si and I want to get a new exhaust that sounds deep...as much like a Mustang as possible.
Any ideas?? Sites???
I heard Greddy and DC sport make some deep sounding exhausts. Also Apexi N1 but I have yet to hear any of them except the DC sport. The DC sport is actually mellow. Not sure how it sounds sitting in the car though.
Thanks.

I knew people would not understand me. I said, "as much like a Mustang". I was basically asking what the deepest sounding exhaust for a Lude is.
Any ideas??

5Zigen Fireball..can be heard coming around the block(not rice loud, a deep moaning sound), deep sound inside the car, and loud as **** @ WOT...not many people have a 5Zigen Fireball exhaust system on their car, but i do and thats pretty much how it sounds. oh yea, the sound is almost non-existant when cruising steady which is nice, cuz if someone is rollin next to u, punch it and they'll get scared shitless, haha.

I took the advice of people here on the board. My N1 was supposed to come in today but I guess there were delays. Here is a thread I started a bit ago, it also includes a link to hear the N1 https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=299415

and just why the hell would you want to make your prelude sound like a mustang??? then just buy a mustang.
how can you expect anyone to understand you and tell you what exhaust will make your prelude sound like a stang?
well, i have an answer for you: NONE. no exhaust will make a 4cylinder car sound like a V8. period.
you should be looking for an exhaust that will give you a certain amount of power NOT a certain sound.

Any up to date exhaust made by Tanabe, Apexi, or Greddy will make you happy.

To all those who posted constructive comments I REALLY appreciate it. To the guy who replied, "If you want you car to sound like a Mustang...get one"...you my friend didn't seem to understand after I explained my question TWICE. I was using a Mustang as a point of reference. I was trying to imply that I want a DEEP sounding exhaust as opposed to the farting, loud exhausts I hear all the time. Yes, I want an exhaust to replace my rusted stock exhaust. I really don't care about the performance gains...if I did I would have asked. Could this be the reason you rode the short bus to school?? LOL j/k
Anyways, guys, I appreciate the help. If any of you guys could post sound clips of Greddy exhasuts that would be VERY helpful. The video posted of the N1 was PERFECT. I was hoping for something a little deeper. The N1 was a little too loud and high pitched. Will Greddy sound deeper thn the N1??? I have heard the DC Sport. Not bad. Deep, yet conservative. I like that too.
Man, this is a tough choice.

I really want to see pics of a SP or a super hyper medallion exhuast on a 4gen. Sounds too if anyone has em! I've heard good things about both, but have only seen one setup with an SP. Post away!

Default Got my N1 one on today.

More good news, my N1 came in at 5pm, started working on it at 5:30 pm and me and 2 of my friends were done by nine (we even took a break for dinner). All we used were two ramps and basic hand tools, and WD40. Well, it sounds awesome! Up to 4000rpm its deep, and after that my vtec kicks in (vafc adjusted to 4200) and the exhaust sounds furious. The best part is, in the cabin its not loud at all at higher rpm, but when I had my friend punch it it sounded downright angry from the outside. I have yet to try out the silencer. Anyway good luck searching for the perfect exhaust, N1 get my vote

uhm... no. you didn't ask the question right. if you just wanted to say that you want a deep sound you should have said just that. when you say you want to make it sound like mustang, everyone's guess would be that you want that V8 rumble sound. you just made it confusing with the mustang thing...
I was using a Mustang as a point of reference. I was trying to imply that I want a DEEP sounding exhaust as opposed to the farting, loud exhausts I hear all the time.
no matter how DEEP sounding exhaust you get, it will never sound like a mustang. that's what i implied. because the difference is the sound of the engine, not muffler.
I want an exhaust to replace my rusted stock exhaust. I really don't care about the performance gains...if I did I would have asked.
whatever floats your boat...
Could this be the reason you rode the short bus to school??
i'll let that slide this time
Will Greddy sound deeper thn the N1??
yes it will. i have Greddy SP on mine and it's pretty damn deep.
oh, and it's for sale btw... the whole catback system. IM me if you're interested.
