Default skunk2 stage1 or stage 2?

Well my main goal is daily driven car without raising the redline and changing the ecu. Im going to reaise my comp also to about 11:1. Is the stage 1 also good for high comp.. (since i hear its good with stock comp..) or might as well get the stage 2. Im also concern about the smog and the stage 1 are smog legal.

Skunk2 Stage 1 cams = CARB Legal, Great Gains, Works perfectly with your Stock Valvetrain.

Skunk2 Stage 2 cams = More power gain.

I'd go with the Stage 1's

If you're that concerned with smog regulations, then go with stage 1.
The stage 2s are still very very streetable, so if you want the power, go with 2.

do you guys think stage 2 will significantly hurt emissions? i never had the impression they were that bad...i just know the idle is bit worse.

so the idle is worse with the 2's, but i don't see how with the stock ecu and no raised redline, that the 2's will unleash more power than the 1's. From what i understood, you needed a raised redline to take advantage of additional gains, which in these cars, tends to occur higher in the power band.

Also, what do you mean you are going to raise the comp? how are you going to do so? different pistons?

well im going to raise up my comp. by buying some pistons (maybe b16a or some usdm itr) do you guys think that the stage 1 will give me some decent power without raising the redline? How much more hp do u guys think it would add with the pistons. around 10? more or less?

well i'm doing the same with my DB8, skunk 2 stage 2 cams, combined with JDM Spoon ITR Pistons w/ALANIZ B16A Head, and ITR intake Manifold. My head is milled .025 so my compression should be almost 12.0, so i think the higher the compression, go with Stage 2, but if your worried about emissions and crap..stick with stage 1!

I plan on making 190+@wheels.

as everyone else has already said, the stage 2's will give you more power but mostly at higher rpms. also with stage 2 you will need to upgrade your valvetrain and you wont pass emissions. for me personally, when i plan on rebuilding my motor with new piston for higher comp, new valvetrain, cams, ecu, etc. i plan on getting the stage2 cuz it's all about POWAH!

another question.... I am getting disappointed because no one seem to know ( or atleast 1 person) if raising compression reduces smog, or affect smog??
