V-tech valve inspection
I have a 2003 CRV(my first crv).I was wondering(since it has 150,000miles)how intense it is to check the valve clearances. On the motorcycle V-Tech it is a lot of work. You must remove the cams and disable the V-tech to inspect the clearances, then remove the cams to undisable the v-tech and pull the shims to make adjustments.then start over to reinspect to be certain the clearances are correct. Then remove again to put the v-tech back and ready.
Is the car version like this? And if so would one need special tools as is neede with the motorcycle engines? The motorcycle engines hold thier clearance for a very long time, but the car engines get a very lot more miles on them.
Thanks in advance for any input.
