Sup squad so I noticed my rs 40/40 proportion valve is leaking so instead of getting another used one and eventually going threw the same problem again.. I was thinking of just getting it new but after talking to my buddy he recommended I get one from a 90-93 accord because those are 60/40. So I wanna know if this is true about the accords if so I'll go with that one if not, I'll just get a OEM new rs 40/40? What do you guys think?

 

So the question you're asking is if you should get a new part that you KNOW will work or get an old part that might NOT work?

No I wanna know is the 90-93 accord a proportion valve a 60/40 ? And if it is I'll get that to replace my leaking integra rs 40/40? I rather have more braking in the front then my rear..

 

Why chance it. At the very least you can take it upon yourself to check part numbers.

The numbers on the proportioning valves are 3030, 4040, 6040, etc. These are just part numbers, it does not necessarily dictate the front / rear bias of the system. The 6040 part number might not do what you think it does. Does it even have the correct locations of brake lines?

I recently had to replace my 4040 valve on my EG do to leaking, but went with a 3030 valve due to not wanting to screw with the bracket again. I have noticed no difference in braking.

Just buy the brand new 4040 and fix your brakes.

 

My brakes are fine , I just wanted to know if the 90-93 Accord 60/40 is better then the integra 40/40. Which ever one was better I was planning to buy new anyways bought a used one not even a year ago and already started leaking .. So I don't wanna deal with the headache of swapping it out again.. So I'm just going Brand new Oem..

 

If your proportioning valve is leaking I don't think I'd say your brakes are "fine."

What is your actual brake setup? Why would you need more front bias? Are your rear brakes oversized compared to the fronts?

If you have the 10.3" fronts with the normal Integra / EX / Si rear discs then stick with the 4040.

I currently have ctr 5 lug with Brembo cross drill rotors , pbr cernamic brake pads, Russell ss brake lines, brand new Oem Rs master cyclinder , and also use high performance brake dot fluid, with new Oem rs lines and notice the Rs 40/40 was leaking and heard the 90-93 accord has a 60/40 so i figured you get better stopping in the front since it's 60/40 if not I'll just buy a brand new oem rs 40/40 so I don't gotta worry about the leaking again, since my used one is not even a year old..
