1990 d15b2 popping from exhaust and smoke
I recently just got a 1990 civic with a d15b2. When i got it, it was not popping from the exhaust or having raw fuel come from the exhaust. I put in new NGK plugs, NGK wires, cap rotor, oil change, o2 sensor, fuel filter. For some reason now thereis a light popping from the exhaust, once every couple of seconds, and the exhaust smells like raw fuel. There are no codes, and i verified the CEL does illuminate.
I have no checked the timing and i assume this is something that could cause this. What else should i check? Thanks

Check your plug gap.
Make sure the rotor is on tight and that the rotor screw is in and hasn't backed out any.
Still got your old parts?
Try the old wires.

i put the plugs in yesturday with a .043 gap. the rotor did have the screw backed out all the way when i took it off originally. ill go check again.
I had bad NEW wires. checked each for a miss with timing light. it didnt sound like it was missing because it was intermittent and didnt spark maybe 1/10-15 flashes. got horrible mileage too (21mpg).
