New To Me 90 CRX Si (((PICS)))
Okay so I've been a member for a few days now.. Picked up my new crx last Saturday! Its b16 swap with new dash and new seats. Im a little irritated that that the previous owner did not disclose some things with me like the transmission mount was welded almost an inch to low so the transmission has slowly been grinding on the torsion bar
and is now leaking... You would think id notice that but it was sunset and hard to see... Not hard just a lot of unnecessary work... Anyways very glad to be a part of the site and looking forward to spending countless tax returns and student loans on my rex.. Cheers

First things first.... Im goin to re-weld the mount and try to fix the trans if the damage to the housing isn't crazy... Replacing exhaust ect ect... Motor plans are top secret right now haha... Ill let the future pics do the talking!!!
Welcome to HT
You might also want to remove the little "ricer" filter on the breather. You see the 2 tiny filters, you should remove them and run a hose between them. This breather is meant to take unburned fumes from the block and vent them back into the intake.
Never seen one on the intake as well like that.
lol, The previous owner couldn't event properly do this improper mod. You're supposed to cap the intake end.
Welcome to the world of fixing hackjob swaps. My advice is to assume everthing needs to be redone, go over everything with a fine toothed comb.
Just a little FYI if you want this to be a "build thread" you'll need to include some technical data.

the mount on the wall of the engine bay or the piece that connects the trans to the wall mount? (only askin because that sounds like a (cheaper) junkyard fix rather then welding if its what im thinking...
pretty clean car, love these old CRX's but id have to toss the pedal covers... caught the gas and brake together too many times with them on a car lol.
your say motor plans but it already seems to have a pretty decent motor swap in it, are you building a beast without disclosing this information??? @:imwatchingyou
got a pic of the mount and damage to the trans? got me all curious now lol

Clean looking car that seems to have a lot of potential. You should replace the mounts with some quality Hasport, Innovative, or other name brand mounts. It would give you the best motor/trans alignment and probably a better ride.
Trending Topics
OEM spec will give the best quality ride but less resistant to torque wear, many aftermarket such as the hasport and others cause vibration due to being stiffer (great for a race car not so much a DD)
The car is swapped...... Innovative offers different grade bushings in their mounts that offer you different levels of softness/hardness. A 60A will be nearly as soft as OEM.
You need to use an aftermarket mount to ensure that you have the proper axle alignment and it will also offer you better protection from having the risk of a broken mount. Trust me on this and please don't believe the poster above me has said.

no offence but yea... SOME people don't have hundreds of extra dollars and SOME swaps don't need aftermarket mounts.
this is the third thread in a row you've said I gave bad advice, now on those two threads I was found to be correct... why do you insist on calling ME out? if you don't agree that's fine, don't mean im wrong,
you can run many swaps on stock mounts or inserts very easily and safely while having a very good ride comfort. with no damage to any components on the car. by all means if you want 500hp rating mounts on your stock D15 go for it, don't tell everyone else they NEED to or Have to, its everyone's own choice to get them if they want.

I will most likely replace motor mounts if needed but they seem fine as of now my main concerns will be with rebuilding the transmission and replacing gaskets, pistons, rings, valves, camshafts ect. Everything is going to be done right the first time.
