Default 1st Post (d15z1 questions)

Hello guys,
My name is JoeZ and I'm new to the site. 22 and have always been into Hondas but now I'm becoming more interested in function and performance. I'm looking to Start a EG project. I would like to first start off with the engine. I'm trying to get a hold of a d15z1 if that is even possible considering how rare ot is to cone across one nowadays. I plan on rebuilding he engine and this will be my first time workin on the internals. Of course I'm going to do my research first but from you more experienced builders what would be a list of focus on parts for the rebuild. Or does anyone have advice on rebuilding a d15z1. Thanks in advance.

ive never seen someone build a d15z1 probably because its made more for saving gas then for performance, but i have seen that you can get a jdm version of it http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/d15b...nly-92-95.html if it helps any, and that wiring the o2 sensor is a pain

there was a guy in ecomodders i belive that completely rebuilt a Z1 motor

if i remember correctly he upgraded to high CR pistons bore it out a bit. did some crank ballancing head porting etc. after all that he got same gas mileage and around 10-15 WHP
now worth it unless you plan to just rebuild it with OEM parts for daily driver.

how extensive you plan to rebuild it. gaskets or all the way down to bearings and piston rings etc?
and have you dont any engine work before?
