Honda crx 91, Why so slow problem?
I have a Honda crx 91, dual point injection, d15b2, manual transmission. The car really lags when you push the pedal all the way down until the RPMS hit 3000, then it starts to push it self faster then the normal pace it had. I just raced a Honda accord off the line today and got destroyed. I know d15b2 engines are crap, but my grandmas electric wheelchair shouldn't be faster.
Any advice or ideas are much appreciated.

clutch it and rev it up. does it rev the same as it runs? or does it rev steady?. if it revs slow the timing is probably off a tooth or the dizzy might be off time. also when you rev does it hit the rev limit or does it stop short?
does it pick up at 3k (the same spot) every time or does it vary from time to time? still sounds like it might be a tooth off on the cam, line it up TDC with the piston closest to the cam or if you can see the crank pully line the plastic piece up with the single little line beside the 3 that's together. then look at the cam, the two lines on the side should be level with the top of the head and timing cover. NOT THE GROUND/CAR

I did the timing 2 weeks ago and had all the marks perfectly lined up, cranked it over a couple of times and checked again just to make sure.
Stop beating off in your moms basement.
was it running fine when you set it 2 weeks ago? belts are prone to slipping especially if you re use a belt. your belt might be stretching. (unlikely if you replaced it 2 weeks ago)
No I did not replace the belt. I checked the belt and it looked fine, only has about a quarter of an inch of freeplay from twisting it side to side, I heard that's normal. And this issue of the car being slow until 3000RPM has been a problem since I bought it 2 years ago. This is nothing new.
I've had issues with bogging down at lows RPMs before on a few cars, and a new fuel filter helped at least one.
So if your fuel filter hasn't been changed anytime recently, i'd give that a shot, they're cheap and easy to change. Let me know if it works!

ryanangelo212, ill give that a shot. I think I defiantly need to because I failed the emissions test here in AZ. Apparently I have to high of rich fuel.
too rich would indicate too much fuel, bad filter would be too little fuel, had a original fuel filter on our 88 crx b20 pushin 325hp to the wheels lol
belt is probably stretched, if you can re-check the timing and get the belt tight youll know if that's the problem but i still recommend a belt unless you know its been changed recently, they aint worth risking
